Run like the wind….

“In running, it doesn’t matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, ‘I have finished.’ There is a lot of satisfaction in that.”
-Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder

I used to watch runners from a distance and wonder what it felt like to run….

Today I can say I know and I am not sure I understand the love of running….

But in the last two weeks, I have had the opportunity to cheer on and celebrate with Suzi and Andy as they have put their running skills to the race test. Andy completed a ten-mile run downtown GR and Suzi ran the 5k rhythm run today.

I know that both Suzi and Andy committed to training and gave it their all…..

Peter, Isaiah and Johanna have seen their parents commit, begin, train (even when they didn’t feel like it), and celebrate their completion of the race they had set their eyes on. There are just a whole bunch of valuable lessons (and blogs) in those steps.

And so today, I am reminded that I once began the Couch to 5k program. I haven’t finished it because I don’t really love (or even like) running. But I believe that I could really benefit from the process that Suzi and Andy have completed.

This week, I will start running again!

Great job Andy and Suzi!
