Welcome 2021

For a while now I have been gearing up to write every day in 2021. It has been a number of years since I have written every day, but I really did enjoy the year that I committed to that. There was an element of reflection to every day. There was an account of all that unfolds in a year and there is a record of my story and our story together.

As a single woman, I am so grateful for the many people who make up my story. I have a beautiful and lively relationship with my family and they are clearly key players in my story. My Mom and Aunt Dot, my siblings and their spouses are my anchor people.

Not quite everyone but our pictures with us all are far and few between

My nieces and nephews all are very dear to me. Now my nieces and nephews are old enough to be choosing who they will commit their lives to and I have one great nephew and niece already, and I love how my heart has room to love more family!

I have a new black lab puppy, Wilhelmina Hope, and she will be a part of my 2021 story in fun and wonderful ways. I miss my Chocolate lab Dutchess, but it was clear that in December of 2019 that it was time to say good bye to Dutch. I waited almost a full year until I was ready for another puppy. But there will still be Dutch stories in 2021.

But this time I expanded my team. I invited my neighbors, Dan and Julie and their two daughters, Natalie and Meghan, to co-own sweet Wilhelmina with me. It is a new venture that we are creating as we go, so you will surely read of stories about Willa and her adventures.

My co-workers are amazing. There is Heather who is my dear friend and co-hort in most things. We have worked side by side for 14 or 15 years so you will hear stories of her. And Jane and I have shared so much living, both the thrill and delight of goodness and the pit and the struggle of hard times. She has stayed supporting me in it all and I am so grateful for her expertise and support. Then there is Mary Ellen and Melissa and all 40+ Caregivers who are such important people in my day to day as 2021 unfolds.

Heather and I in March of 2020. You will meet the others in pictures as the year unfolds.

So for 2021, I will write about the stories and the many characters in my stories I am grateful to be surrounded by such a tribe of people to love and to be loved by. This is by no means everyone I am grateful for as we embark on a new year. There are many more who will leave their imprint on my heart in small and large ways. Some I could name, some are still unknown to me.

As we have learned this past year, so much can happen around us, but if we are loved and surrounded by a community of people, we can withstand so much and support one another in all that comes our way.

Looking forward to journeying with you in the coming days, weeks, months and year!

Blessed Be His Name,

Trish
