Sleep goals.

I have been surprised this week how much work it takes to get enough sleep. Before I went to U 1st Fitness, I tended to sleep 5 to 5.5 hours a night. I came home realizing that good rest is a part of the well-balanced life I desire. My lack of sleep can not be blamed on any good reason. I believe that my lack of sleep is often due to a lack of mindfulness when it comes to planning my evening and hours before sleep.

And so I am committed to a goal of sleeping from 10 till 6, recognizing that eight hours a night may transform some aspects of my life. In order to set myself up for success, I have cleared almost all of my evening appointments and I am striving to live within a framework of routine that allows for adaptability when needed, but has some boundaries that I am committed to prioritizing. I am setting aside some of my spontaneous nature and committing to some routines that feel stifling to me but also realize they are habits that will in the end be very much about being kind to myself.

I wonder how many hours of sleep you get each night. Do you plan your life around sleep or sleep around your life? There are many studies out about the importance of good rest. I encourage you to join me in prioritizing your rest. Limiting my time on Facebook is one key action step,  catching morning news instead of bedtime news and starting to unwind by 9 so that at ten I am ready for lights out are all key steps I am taking.

And for now I best sign off because in all of this writing, I am 30 minutes late.

Sleep well, rest deep and wake up ready to experience life fully!
