Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him…

It’s Sunday night again…

I am sure your not surprised that they come around regularly.

I am always a bit surprised how my memory recalls almost every Sunday night the call we got in December of 2012.

The call letting us know of my brothers sudden death in a car accident.

DSC01525I always carry Len’s memory in my heart and he is never far from my thoughts, but I do not live in a state of constant grief. I remember, I smile, I laugh, I weep, I marvel at God’s presence….

And so, I am a bit surprised when I regularly remember the call right about the time the phone rang 14 months ago….

This week I heard the song Circle Up by Chris Rice. I had heard it at the time of Len’s death, but it really didn’t settle in my heart. Beginning tonight, I am playing this song on Sunday nights when that memory returns. I really don’t know what heaven will be like. I wonder and I believe, but somehow the picture this song leaves me with is an invitation to consider the amazing community of the saints.

And so, tonight, I think of Len, hearing the invitation to Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him and I believe he loves that, beams with his great grin, shares his belly laughter and delights in being fully alive. I miss you brother. Someday I will circle up with you and you can show me the way!

I hope you will take a few minutes and remember those you know who circle up and allow your heart to be at peace…

Circle up, circle up around the throne
Old and young, saints of every history
Great and small angels are and seraphim
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him

Hear the hum of angel curiosity
The children of the Lord are gathering
Finally the day we’ve all been dreaming of
Called up forever in His love

Circle up, circle up around the throne
Old and young, saints of every history
Great and small angels are and seraphim
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him

Hear the thunder of unfolding wings
Feel the mighty wind their beating brings
Bring your grateful tears and flood the floor
Rise up and worship like a storm

Circle up, circle up around the throne
Old and young, saints of every history
Great and small angels are and seraphim
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him

Now hear His golden voice above it all
He’s saying this tear is the last to fall
A few simple words and another storm He calms
Invites us all into His arms

Circle up, circle up around the throne
Old and young, saints of every history
Great and small angels are and seraphim
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him

Circle up, circle up around the throne
Old and young, saints of every history
Great and small angels are and seraphim
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him

Circle up, circle up around the throne
Old and young, saints of every history
Great and small angels are and seraphim
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him

Circle up, circle up around the throne
Old and young, saints of every history
Great and small angels are and seraphim
Grab a hand, twirl a dance, circle up and worship Him

Circle up, circle up around the throne
