Are you a good Samariatin….

Today in our first group session we looked at the story of the Good Samaritan. It has been a long time since I really sat down and read through the detail of this story.

I encourage you to think about this story and how a priest and a Levite passed by a wounded traveler. The next to pass was the good Samaritan who stopped to tend to the wounds of the traveler who had been robbed and beaten. We spent time talking today about places we all have been wounded, robbed or beaten on the journey of life.

It is also fascinating to consider when we have been passed by and/or who have been Samaritans who have stopped to care for us. Here are a few questions we considered together:

Who has refused to get personally involved in your life?

What do you believe about the people who have passed you by?

Who has stopped for you?

Who has been generous on your behalf?

Are you aware of wounds you may still have that need attention?

Do you need someone to stop for you?

Are you willing to be cared for?

Today our small groups arrived and I am enjoying the three men and three women who comprise our group. Darrin and I led strong together and our group members participated well. It was a good day and tomorrow is another full one with three lessons to accomplish, so I best sign off and will write more tomorrow!
