These words rang through my thoughts today as I decided I would not put the radio on in the car today. It is so easy to fill my silence with stimulation and even “good” noise, such as Christian radio. But I am going to try for something new. When I am in the car, I am going to reflect on a thought. Today I found this quote and figured it was a good thought to reflect on.

another’s thoughts on silence – from a fb friend’s status today: If you sit real still and quiet like for a minute, and listen to the sounds around you, you’ll hear more than one thing probably. What is the 3rd thing you hear, or what is the 3rd layer of sounds that you hear?
I often, more times than not, ride in silence in the car if alone. However -it is the only time I ever get silence in my life and it is a great joy to me. I love the silence of the house when everyone is just asleep and I often sit alone a bit to enjoy it before heading off to bed. I highly recommend it.
